COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The NJCAA National Office in Colorado Springs, Colo., is pleased to release the names of the 2009-2010 NJCAA Distinguished Academic All-American and Academic All-American awards as well as the 2010 Spring All-Academic Teams. This year over 1,300 NJCAA student-athletes met the requirements for the individual academic honors while over 340 teams qualified for academic team accolades.

Two members of the LSU Eunice Softball Team were named as Academic All-Americans. Chasity Gary and Ashley Parr picked up the honors. To be named as an NJCAA Academic All-American, students must maintain between a 3.60 and 3.70 grade point average for 45 semester hours of work.

Chasity Gary, who played catcher for the Lady Bengals qualified with a 3.61 gpa, while Parr, an outfielder, held a 3.74 gpa at LSU Eunice. Both played for Comeaux High School in Lafayette.
