Saturday April 24th, Eunice, LA – The LSU Eunice Baseball team (41-6) defeated LB Wallace Community College (28-15) in game two of the three game weekend series between the two teams. The Bengals won by a final score of 8-1.
Chance Mistric (10-0) of Port Barre earned the win pitching 7 2/3 innings, allowing seven hits and one run while walking three and striking out 10. A trio of Bengal relievers combined to allow no hits over the final 1 1/3 innings.
Eldred Barnett of Benton High paced the Bengals offensively going 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, two runs scored and three stolen bases. Les Aulds; ULM signee, and Raph Rhymes of Neville added two doubles apiece. Aulds scored three runs and Rhymes drove in four.
The two teams are scheduled to play the third and final game of the series tomorrow, Sunday April 25th at 1 pm at Bengal Stadium.
