Season Wrap Up

Eunice, LA - The LSU Eunice baseball team finshed the season with a record of 51 wins and 12 losses and a 3rd place finish at the NJCAA Division II World Series.  That win total matches the 2004 Bengal team that also finished third at the World Series. 

As a team, the 2009 Bengals set records in 8 of the 16 team statisitcal categories including regular season wins (45), RBI's (586), and stolen bases (197).

LSU Eunice keeps track of individual statistics in 21 different categories.  Members of the 2009 team can now be found in 16 of those categories including Trey Watkins who set records in runs scored (95), walks (49), hit by pitch (18), and stolen bases (58).  Zach Kirksey now holds the record for triples (9) and Chance Mistric has the most wins in a season (15). 

Two Bengals received All-Region 23 honors in Trey Watkins and Chance Mistric.  Both of those guys also received National honors being named All-Americans.  Watkins was a 1st team All-American and Mistric was a 2nd team All-American. 

Additionally, two Bengals received NJCAA World Series All-Tournament team honors.  The two named were Brook Boudreaux and Gabriel Thibodeaux.
