Scottsdale Eliminates LSU Eunice from World Series

Thursday May 28th, Enid, OK – Scottsdale Community College handed the LSUE baseball (51-12) team their second defeat of the World Series and eliminated the Bengals. Scottsdale won the game by a score of 9-1.
Mitchell Hopkins (1-1) suffered the defeat pitching 2 2/3 innigs, allowing six hits and five runs with one walk and two strikeouts. Brandon Guidry came on in relief of Hopkins and pitched five innings, allowing three hits, one earned run, with two walks and seven strikeouts.
Offensively, Trey Watkins and Gabriel Thibodeaux each went 2-for-4.
The loss ends the season for a Bengal team who finished third at the World Series and set a regular season team record with 45 wins. The 51 overall wins ties the 2004 team with the second most wins in a season behind the 52 wins of the 2006 and 2008 National Championship teams.
